dental procedures = no-no

    Heads up to those couples who are trying to conceive here :D If you're already trying, and are off the contraception, be sure to get clearance from your OB before you go to the dentist. Sometimes, their x-rays and radio tests are harmful if you have already conceived but it's too early to tell by tests.

    To those who are trying to conceive, major dental procedures should be done before you try :)

    Thank you for the reminder. My OB says light cleaning is allowed, but extractions, x-rays, and dental surgeries are not advised at all.

    Yeah, my dentist always asks me if I am pregnant before scheduling any major procedure, or before starting one. Better safe than sorry ;)

    Yes, and even normal chest x-rays or any imaging diagnostic tests are bad for the fetal health so make sure you are not pregnant before doing those ;)
