Understanding postpartum depression and treatment

    It is common that you feel anxiety, trouble sleeping, mood swings after the labor and delivery. It can occur since your hormone levels go up and down after the delivery. If you found that these symptoms last longer than 2 weeks then you may have postpartum depression.

    Typically the PPD patients are treated with antidepressants. You can don't need to consult any postpartum depression counselors if you are following these natural therapies.

    Omega-3 fatty acids


    Intake food items that contain omega-3 fatty acids, it will help you to cure PPD. Flax seeds, chia seeds, salmon, sardines etc are rich in omega-3 fatty acids.

    Sleep

    Try to sleep when baby sleep. Sleeping can enhance your mood and ability to function.

    Meditation and Yoga

    Start your day with meditation or yoga. This will help you to control your worries and anxiety. Your mind becomes clear from all negative thoughts.

    Laugh

    Break your depression through laughing. Laughing is the best remedy that will help you to break your depression. Watch pranks or comedies to force yourself to laugh.

    Go out

    Visit parks or zoo once in a week.
